Each on a shaped square pedestal base pierced with foliage, each figure wearing armour standing with a shield and sword, with gilt crowns and carved faces,
all approximately 9in. high
Modelled after the original figures cast by Peter Fisher in Nürnberg in 1513 to a design by Albrecht Durer. These are a series of 28 larger than life statues which decorate the marble sarcophagus of the tomb of Emperor Maximilian I in the Court Church, Innsbruck, Austria (5)
