A printed Revolutionary fan, the leaf a hand coloured etching of a trumpetting angel offering a laurel leaf to a couple in revolutionary dress, standing by the Altar of Love inscribed "Vivre libre ?????" with a revolutionary on it above inscribed "Entre François Patriote et la renommé sur la prise de Toulon", and two oval vignettes framed with laurel leaves with a transcript of the conversation; le patriote "Que vois-je!.....Vivre la Republique!...Et que dit George Pitt? La renommé "Il tate avec frayer", with wooden sticks, 10.5in., French, circa 1793 (conserved at the sides)
