A Derby figure of Minerva standing before flowering bocage, wearing a plumed helmet and a gilt cuirass under an iron-red, yellow-lined drape over a turquoise-ground robe painted with sprays of flowers, in her left hand she holds an oval shield on which is the head of Medusa and at her feet sits an owl on a stack of books, on a rococo style scrolling base enriched in gilt (repairs and minor damages) circa 1765 -- 12½in. high
