A George II tapering lidded tankard on a flaring foot, with a moulded body band and rim, later-added spout, scroll handle with heart-shaped terminal and domed hinged cover with scroll thumb piece, later-chased and embossed with rococo flowers, foliage, trellis work and C-scrolls and later-engraved with two crests, maker's mark indistinct, London 1755, the spout bearing later hallmarks - 7¼in., 24.25oz.
