GRAHAM ROBERTS Graham Roberts was born at Southampton on 3rd July 1959 and whilst playing junior football he had trials with Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth before joining Weymouth. In May 1980 Tottenham Hotspur paid a then record #35,000 for a non-League club player and within a year Roberts was picking up a F.A.Cup winner's medal. He had further successes with the famous Spurs side of the early 1980's, winning a further F.A.Cup winner's medal in 1982 and helping his side to a UEFA Cup-win in 1984. In December 1986 he was signed by Graeme Souness for #450,000 to partner Terry Butcher in central defence. He was an important player in the Rangers Championship-winning side of season 1986-87 and in Terry Butcher's absence he captained the Rangers side to their League Cup win the following season. Roberts made a total of 69 appearances for Rangers scoring 3 goals before his untimely transfer to Chelsea in August 1988 for #470,000. Graham Roberts also made 6 full England International appearances. The following twenty-three lots were awarded to GRAHAM ROBERTS
