This jersey was swopped by Cantwell with Roger Byrne, after one of the World Cup Qualifying matches between Ireland and England in May 1957.

Roger Byrne was one of the greatest ever Manchester United captains. He led the side to the 1956 and 1957 League Championship's and to the F.A. Cup final in 1957. Byrne played 33 consecutive games for England and was two days short of his 29th birthday when he died along with many of his colleagues in the 'Munich disaster', 6th February 1958
