The Optical Magic Lantern Journal ran from 16 June 1889 to 1903 when it became the Optical Lantern Journal and Cinematograph Weekly. The journal is one of the most important sources of information on the subject from this period. The title was resurrected (with the prefix 'new') by the Magic Lantern Society for their journal.
