M. for Robert Milbourne, 1635-34, 4 parts in one vol., sm. 2°, FIRST EDITION, variant issue, engraved frontispiece (cropped at lower margin), engraved plate with volvelles (torn with some loss and laid down, the volvelles defective), engraved portrait and 200 engraved emblems with text beneath, all within ruled borders (V4 torn and repaired, affecting some characters on recto, and also dampstained, some upper and lower margins cropped slightly affecting headline or catchword, 2I1 with small burn hole), early 19th-century calf, covers with gilt Greek key-pattern border and central octagonal panel ruled in black, spine with raised bands lettered in gilt (rebacked, preserving old spine, corners also restored, lightly rubbed).
