The Charlton Athletic Tour of Sweden, 1946, kicked-off in spectacular style. The match against A.I.K., played in Stockholm on 7th June, before 12,000 spectators ended in a 7-7 draw. Charlton were leading 7-1 with 25 minutes remaining. However, A.I.K. staged an amazing comeback and were unfortunate not to win the match with a last minute shot which beat Bartram in goal only to crash-off the base of the post for a goal kick. The match against Malmo, played on 14th June, before 4,600 spectators was equally exciting, with Chris Duffy scoring the winning goal in a 4-3 triumph in the last minute. The match against I.F. Kamraterna was played at The Valley ground on 31st October 1946 before a crowd of 23,453, and ended in a 3-2 defeat for Charlton.
