A large Chinese export armorial famille rose punch bowl painted and gilt to the interior with a central coat of arms within a garland of flowers below a border of beribboned vases of flowers suspended by swags of flowers on a cell pattern ground, the exterior painted with a panoramic scene of European figures at leisure in parkland before a mansion and fishing in a lake before a gothic tower, the foot rim inscribed "A View of Whitton House and the Gothick Tower in the Garden of George Gostling Esq.", the base inscribed "IG 1777" (badly broken, restored and over painted) -- 14¼in. diam, 18th Century.
