An oxidised brass surveying theodolite signed on the silvered dial CARY LONDON, the telescope with bubble level, rack-and-pinion focusing, located in cradle, over a vertical half-circle divided on one side 30°-0°-30° Diff of Hypo & base; the other with silvered scale 60°-0°-90°, with vernier and swing-arm magnifier mounted on the axis, supported by twin A-frame trunnions, one mounted with tangent screw adjustment and lock, and engraved H0<-7I, the horizontal plate with bubble and cross-bubble, compass box with silvered scale, edge-bar needle, cap and clamp, with silvered horizontal circle divided 10°-360°, with twin verniers, magnifier (detached), tangent screw and clamp, on four-screw tripod mount, in fitted mahogany case with trade label for CARY PORTER Ltd.
