The broken gilt-metal-mounted pediment above a frieze fitted with two painted panels, and with an arched glazed door enclosing a white painted dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials, and moon-face to the arch, inscribed Anthony Simpson, Cockermouth, the case fitted with a moulded arched rectangular trunk door flanked by reeded demi- column angles, the crossbanded and boxwood lined base with canted angles, on a moulded plinth with bracket feet, 90in.
