A finely detailed fully planked and rigged ½in:1ft scale display model of an 85ft privateer ketch as designed by F.H.Chapman circa 1768 and masted and rigged in accordance with drawings of 1794 and modelled by P.H.Carey 1973-93. --59½ x 71in (151 x 180.5cm)
With masts and bound spars with foot ropes and stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging with left hand wound rope and scale blocks with sheaves and deck details including carved winged dragon figurehead, hair rails, anchors with bound wooden stocks, catheads, heads, bitts, gratings, stove chimney, capstan with paul's, belaying rails and pins, companionways, deck rails with nettings, tiller and compass box, two carvel planked ship's boats with bottom boards, thwarts and oars, sweeps and twelve four pounder guns in carriages with tackle and shot racks. The hull, planked with tre'nails in oak to the waterline and pine above, over sawn oak frmaes, has glazed stern cabin quarter windows with detailed interior and planked deck. Finished in white and black with red bulwarks and yellow bow and transom decoration. Fitted carrying box.
