A walnut and feather-banded bureau, with hinged rectangular slope enclosing a leather-lined interior fitted with six stationery compartments and six short drawers flanking a central cupboard door, locking by means of the tiered plinth drawer opened from below to reveal a secret chest of drawers, with two short and three long drawers on bracket feet, 18th century and later -- 36¼in. (92cm.) wide, 20½in. (52cm.) deep, 42½in. (108cm.) high.
