An ebonised and ormolu-mounted bureau plat, of Louis XVI style, the rectangular top with bowed ends, lined in gilt-tooled tan leather, the husk and patera-mounted frieze centred by a roundel flanked by two drawers on turned tapering partly filled fluted legs, each with a stiff-leaf collar and joined by a pierced cross stretcher centred by a finial, on turned tapered legs, signed Monbro, third quarter 19th century -- 54cm. (137cm.) wide, 28in. (71cm.) deep, 30¾in. (77cm.) high.
