An English creamware plate transfer printed in black with a medallion of Minerva from the engraving by Thomas Rothwell, seated above putti and the banner LET KNOWLEDGE UNITE US flanked by hanging game, the rim moulded with drapery swags enriched in black (chips to rim, slight staining and wear), impressed mark, probably Melbourne Pottery, 1775-80 -- 9 5/8in. diam.
