A Minton majolica oval shaped seafood-dish and cover modelled as a crab on a bed of seaweed, a frond forms a loop finial, painted naturalistically in colours in a border of twelve wells painted in blue and ochre divided by moulded ropetwists bands, enriched in turquoise to the interior (minute chip the cover and rim, two firing cracks to underside of rim), impressed marks and date code for 1864 -- 15¾in. wide
