A Staffordshire porcelain ornithological part dessert-service, painted in colours with vignettes, mostly with birds of prey perched on grassy crags with mountains in the distance within borders moulded with interlaced bands edged in gilt on a pink ground below shaped rims, comprising: two high three-footed comports, the bases painted with panels of birds; four similar low comports; and twelve plates (one low comport damaged and repaired, sight wear), printed registration marks for 1872, each plate -- 9¼in. diam.
