A Meissen group of 'Sacrifice and Friendship' after an original by Christian Gottlieb Jüchtzer modelled as a vestal virgin, wearing loose Classical drapes, and a scantily clad winged putto garlanding a burning altar with roses, on a stepped oval base moulded with flower heads and scrolls, painted in colours and gilt (minute chips and firing faults to base), blue crossed swords mark, circa 1880 -- 13¾in. high
