Cf. Geoffrey Godden. The impressed diamond mark was formerly thought to be that of the Wayte & Ridge in Longton c. 1864 but evidence suggests the mark was that of Messrs. Wittman & Roth, Importer, of London c. 1870-96, used on Continental wares
