An oak, walnut and painted tester bed, the tester with lunette-carved cornice and frieze of entwined strap-work and foliage, with panels beneath decorated with strap-work, flowerheads, and stars, including penwork and faux coloured hardstones, around a central panel carved with fleurs de lys, the headboard with two upper panels with central masks flanked by fruiting foliage, above two arches depicting architectural scenes, the uprights carved with terms surmounted by fruiting capitals flanked at the sides by bearded male figures with hoof feet, the fluted posts on square section bases, with handwritten label indistinctly inscribed Occassion of The Marr... of Wm Knight to Hester ... of ..., and other labels variously inscribed Wm.
