A 2pp. a.l.s. by H.R.H. Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, dated Cowes, August 8th, [n.y.], on headed paper embossed in red "Royal Yacht Osborne," to Owen, sending: "the enclosed Mem." which he had received from the Duke of Cambridge, saying that he had no vacant retirements: "for this good old soldier;" a 2pp. l.s., by the Prince of Wales, dated Marlborough House, Pall Mall, S.W., 18th February 1882, to E. North Buxton, asking him to attend a meeting at St. James's Palace in order to promote the establishment of a Royal College of Music: "for providing systematic instruction for all classes of Her Majesty's subjects;" together with another document signed by him, a 1p. t.l.s. by Edward, Duke of Windsor, congratulating friends on their Golden Wedding Anniversary and a 2pp. a.l.s. by George, Duke of Cambridge.
