A globular vase with short flaring neck and foot painted and gilt with a panel of two figures crossing a bridge before a waterfall in a rocky river landscape of buildings and trees, the reverse with a scholar and boy attendant approaching a retreat in a landscape of flowers and autumnal maple trees, all on a dark blue ground of scattered flowerheads and fans -- 4¾in. high, impressed mark of Kinkozan.
