A gilt brass encrier, modelled in the form of a miniature table globe, the acanthine pineapple finial with button operating a catch to reveal a fitted interior with cut glass well, pounce and nib box, on scroll supports with lion mask headers, possibly German, circa 1770 -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) high.
