A late Victorian ebonised, burr-walnut and gilt-metal-mounted bonheur du jour, applied with gilt-metal mounts, the serpentine moulded top with stepped three-quarter galleried superstructure, the central mirrored panelled door flanked by two columns of three short drawers, the projecting frieze with a central drawer applied with rockwork clasps on clasp-headed cabriole legs, stamped Hewettson & Milner, Tottenham Court Road, London -- 46½in.
