A mid-Victorian burr-walnut and gilt-metal-mounted bureau de dame, inlaid with boxwood arabesques, the galleried superstructure centred by an arched mirror back and short drawer flanked by two glazed panelled doors, the hinged slope enclosing an interior with fitted well and three pen drawers, pigeon holes and a lined writing surface, the waved frieze on clasp-headed cabriole legs reaching to sabots, some losses to the veneered edge of the slope -- 35in. (89cm.) wide, 21½in. (55cm.) deep, 56in. (142cm.) high.
