John Marshall, a dissected puzzle maker, is listed as Newbery's great rival in Juvenile publishing in the eighteenth century, see The English Jigsaw Puzzle by Linda Hannas. He was at 140 Fleet Street between 1805 and 1828, but is not mentioned in F.R.B. Whitehouse's Table Games of Georgian and Victorian Days.
