A pair of Chinese portrait paintings in watercolour and bodycolour on paper, one depicting an Emperor wearing a hat capped by a peacock feather and a blue robe decorated in gilt with roundels containing five clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls among cloud scrolls and above foaming waves, the other depicting an Empress wearing a yellow robe decorated overall with five clawed dragons, each seated on a throne and holding a ruyi sceptre -- 6½in.x 5¾in., framed and glazed.
