A pair of Chinese blue glazed flattened oviform vases, each painted in gilt with a shaped panel of a stag and doe below pine, the reverse with six lines of calligraphy, all on a ground of scrolling lotus flowers and leaves, the interiors turquoise (one with chip to foot, gilt rubbing) -- 7¾in. high, iron-red Qianlong seal mark, early 19th Century, wood stands, fitted box.
