An early 19th century Chinese export lacquer octagonal workbox, the cover heightened in gilt with buildings within garden landscapes, swing handles to the sides, the lid enclosing a tray, the compartmented interior partly fitted with boxes and ivory sewing implements, three frieze drawers to the front, the central drawer with a writing slope -- 20½in. (52cm.) wide.
