A Japanese black lacquer zushi with foliate gilt-copper mounts, the gilt interior fitted with two Buddhist lacquered and giltwood figures of Kannon and Fudo, the former dressed in long flowing robes and standing before a cloud-scroll mandala on a stepped hexagonal base, the other figure dressed in robes and before a flaming mandala, on a rockwork base set on a square stand (wear, old damages) -- 15.in.high.
