Five various English delft blue and white plates painted in a Chinoiserie style, comprising: a plate painted with a standing figure holding a bird among terracing, beside him a building with a female figure by the window, the well with diaper panels and Oriental devices below a border of flowers within a brown-line rim, the reverse with concentric circles, possibly Liverpool, circa 1760 -- 8¾in. diam.; another with Oriental huts among trees, the well with diaper and scroll panels, the reverse with three branches, probably Lambeth, circa 1780; a plate painted with figures at work in a garden before fencing, the well and rim with diaper pattern panels, devices and flowers below a brown line, the reverse with sprays of flowers, possibly London; a plate painted with a seated figure by rockwork below branches within a geometric pattern border reserved with flowerheads, possibly Bristol, circa 1750; a plate painted with a standing female figure standing between a banner and a large vase issuing flowers in a border of insects among fruiting branches, probably Bristol, mid 18th Century; and an English delft plate painted with a soldier crossing a bridge between buildings, possibly Liverpool, mid 18th Century (some chips and flaking to rims of illustrated lots)
