A Worcester (Flight, Barr and Barr) shouldered oviform two-handled
vase painted with mirror-shaped panels possibly by Thomas Baxter Jnr. of a lady, possibly Lady Hamilton, reclining on a barque afloat in a grotto, to the reverse with Cupid and a shepherd in a rustic landscape within jewelled borders and with panels of flowers on a deep-blue-ground, the shoulders with a beaded border, the handles modelled as griffins, the lower section to the vase leaf-moulded above a knopped stem and on a square-section plinth, inscribed to the base with maker's name, retailer's name and lines of verse, circa 1820 -- 9¼in. high
