A battle scene, gouache heightened with gold on paper, on a grassy plain four horsemen fight while four other watch from the side and a fifth flees, one warrior lies dead, panels of black nasta'liq above and below, green and brown margins between black and blue rules, reverse with four columns of similar script, (very slight flaking and rubbing) Shiraz, circa 1560, framed and glazed - miniature 8½in. x 5¼in.
