A hand-coloured lithographed valentine card with central illustration of a beautiful lady in a garden, talking to cupid holding a flame, verse reads 'To thee my love I give my heart/I give my love to thee Cupid shall ne'er from us depart/Though thou'st far from me/Then soon we will become but one/Together we'll entwine/And joyfully our course we'll run/Come be my Valentine' - 10 x 8in., circa 1840
