A mid 19th Century wrought iron, brass and steel model of a single cylinder 'grasshopper' beam engine -- 16½x15¼in. (42x39.8cm)
With cylinder 1½in. bore x 3½in. stroke, studded stuffing box, centrally mounted valve chest with separate steamways, barrelled connecting rod and anchor links, rod driven feed pump, all bearings with wedges, cotters and split brasses, wasted crank, belt driven watt governor, finished in black and polished brightwork, (linkage and valve missing), spoked flywheel and spoked belt pulley, wrought iron bed and mahogany plinth
