This lathe has been attributed to Fenn; unusually it is unmarked, but the form of the cast iron legs, the headstock and the ornamental slide rest is fairly typical of the make (c.f. illustrations in Model Engineer July 26, 1917, p.59 and T.R. Crom Horological Shop Tools p.241 from the Fenn catalogue). The ornamenting chucks are various makes, all adapted to the lathe. The screw chasing device appears original and is one of the many attempts to overcome the difficulty with the common headstock. It would seem to be effective given a proper set of chasers and a follower. These are absent.
