A large Satsuma vase painted and heavily gilt with panels of ladies at leisure on terraces before temples and samurai warriors with bows and halberds, the side panels with long tailed birds among flowers, all on a ground of ho-o roundels, cell-pattern and geometric designs (cracked) -- 37in. high.
