A Chinese export lacquer octagonal box and domed cover on for paw feet painted and heavily gilt with a central panel depicting numerous figures in a courtyard working at production of tea below birds in flight among trees, within a borders of foliage and confronting coiled dragons and flaming pearls, the sides with further similar scenes, the interior fitted with seven boxes and covers painted similarly, and ten card trays variously painted with portraits and simulated gaming cards, containing approximately eighty mother-of-pearl gaming counters of rectangular and circular shapes, some with the monogram J.R. -- the box 14¾.in.wide.
