Lot Essay

A transitional key/lever wind mechanism, in which the lever appears to have been added at the factory to an existing key-wind movement. A faint name stamp is on the bedplate, of which only the initials H&B are legible. There is also a stamp E.F., and a former restorer recorded JJB under the comb and V C on the great wheel.
