The upper body pierced with jagged triangles in semi-circles, some with jagged edges, the top with a spherical open finial, raised on three short cabriole legs, all covered under a pale greyish-green glaze, feet restuck

Lot Essay

Compare a similarly modelled censer in Jiangsu liuchao qingci, Nanjing, 1980, pl. 25. The censer discussed there was excavated to the east of Dianjiang city in 1962, and is now exhibited in the Dianjing Museum; and another is illustrated in Green Wares from Zhejiang, Fung Ping Shang Museum, Hong Kong, June 20, 1993 - January 15, 1994, pl. 15.
