A SET OF FIVE BRONZE BELT HOOKS
Warring States period (475-221 BC) and Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD)
The first with a slender curved shaft, the three longitudinal facets inlaid in gold and silver with a crawling dragon, 9 in. (22.9 cm.) long; the second cast in openwork with a mythical creature holding a dagger, surrounded by mythical beasts and terminating with a bird head hook, 5 5/8 in. (14.4 cm.) long; the third well-cast as an S-shaped water dragon, inlaid with turquoise, gold, and silver, 4 in. (11.1 cm.) long; the fourth of elongated curved shape with tapering ends formed by animal-mask heads, also inlaid with turquoise, gold, and silver, 8¼ in. (20.9 cm.) long; the last, gilt-bronze shaped as an openwork meandering dragon with the tail forming the terminal, inlaid with turquoise or glass, some losses and wear to gilt, 7 1/8 in.
