AN UNUSUAL FAMILLE ROSE AND SILVERED DISH; AND A FAMILLE ROSE PLATE
The first circa 1735-40, the second Yongzheng (1723-35)
The dish enamelled at the centre with a boy holding a stick astride a water-buffalo in an extensive riverscape, reserved on an oxidised silver ground with three bold lotus-leaf-shaped cartouches enclosing blue enamel flowers in the well, all within an iron-red ground with gilt scrolling foliage; and a finely enamelled and gilt plate with a gentleman on a horse embracing his female companion as she stands beside him, accompanied by an attendant stooped with the weight of his load, within an iron-red border gilt with scrolling flowers and reserved with four green and gilt dragon cartouches, the plate with rim hairline
