A rare seventeen page mimeographed typescript contract between Gary Cooper and International Pictures
, 24th December, 1943, the agreement setting out terms and conditions for Cooper's role as... "Casanova Q. Brown" in our photoplay now tentatively bearing the same title... and his fee of two hundred thousand dollars, signed on the penultimate page in black ink by Gary Cooper and in blue ink by William Goetz, President of International Pictures, the last page detailing a clause whereby International Pictures...assigns to The Christie Corporation all of its right, title and interest in, to and under the foregoing contract between International Pictures, Inc. and Gary Cooper...., signed in blue ink by William Goetz for International Pictures and by the Vice President of The Christie Corporation; accompanied by a black and white publicity still of Gary Cooper and Teresa Wright in the roles of Casanova Brown and Isabel Drury -- 8½x6½in. (21.5x16.5cm.); a black and white publicity photograph of Cooper -- 10x8in. (25.4x20.3cm.) (both photographs printed later); and a letter of donation from Moses Rothman, signed (4)

During his career, Gary Cooper won two Best Actor Academy Awards, one for Sergeant York, 1941, the other for one of his best known films High Noon, 1952. In April 1961 he was awarded a Special Academy Award...for his many memorable screen performances and the international recognition he, as an individual, has gained for the motion picutre industry.
Casanova Brown, a romantic comedy, was released in 1944, and received three Academy Award nominations.
