A Chinese-style robe of red satin, stencilled with gilt dragons amongst cloud bands, bats and further auspicious emblems, with a seaware border below, with gilt striped sleeves and horseshoe cuffs, with cotton label inside inscribed in black ballpoint pen 33 -- made for an extra for the 1987 Columbia Pictures film The Last Emperor

Lot Essay

The Last Emperor won huge critical acclaim and numerous awards. Jeremy Thomas produced the film and was awarded an Academy Award for Best Picture as well as a BAFTA with Director, Bernardo Bertolucci for Best Film.
