This portrait can be seen in the film at the top of the stairs when Don Juan [Anthony Pryce] and Eva Peron [Madonna] arrive at a party held to celebrate his election victory. As they walk up the stairs, everyone applauds them and Ché [Antonio Banderas] turns to the portrait on the wall as he ponders Eva Peron's rise from just a backstreet girl to the lady of them all...

Written and directed by Alan Parker, Evita had been a long-term project for nearly nine years and received two Academy Award nominations winning Best Song [You Must Love Me, lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd-Webber], and eight BAFTA nominations.
