Further details
The embroidery of the needlework seat was done by Emily Watts (nee Buchan) who was a teacher at the Royal School of Neeedlework. It was executed sometime between 1898 and 1910 and part of her initials are just visible in one corner.
Interestingly Emily Watts was the mother of Alan Watts who was to become a great authority on Zen Buddhism and other Eastern religions.
