A Napoleon III ebonised and gilt-bronze-mounted meuble d'appui, with a marble top, the frieze with acanthus and egg-and-dart mouldings, centred by a hardstone panel with fruiting branches flanked by floral swags and trophies of war, enclosed by a husk-decorated panelled door below, centred by a ribbon-tied oval panel, similarly mounted with a design of a floral and fruit laden spray with a bird, between stiles headed with classical masks on bracket feet centred by a Bacchanal -- 43in. (110cm.) wide, 20in. (51cm.) deep, 53in. (135cm.) high.
