A Chinese export octagonal armorial soup plate painted in sepia, coloured enamels and gilt with a central coat of arms and the motto 'Ingratis Si Vere Nefas' within an en grisaille and gilt border of floral swags, spearhead and chain -- 9¼in. diam, circa 1770.
