This piece is illustrated on pages 149 and 150 of Starting To Collect Silver, where the author John Luddington discusses at length his researches to trace the original owner of this rare piece. Although Mr Luddington has some fascinating theories regrettably he concludes "all these conjectures are valueless and without hope of substantiation, but they may indicate that when, as usual, the research proves nothing, it does provide scope for thought and some fun as well".
